Accept or refine Ranger drafts
Add to section, Replace section, or Discard a Ranger proposal.
You are in the editor with Ranger open and a draft card in the pane. Let Ranger interview you covers the interview that produces that card.
- Wait for a card labeled with the heading, such as The context. Ranger does not paste a section into a chat bubble. A one-line note can sit above the quoted draft.

-
The card clamps the draft to about six lines. Click Show more to expand it, or Show less to clamp it again.
-
Add to section and Discard are always there. Replace section is hidden when the heading is empty. On an empty heading, Add to section writes the draft as the body. On a heading that already has copy, it keeps that copy and appends the draft after a blank line. The card then reads Added.
-
Click Replace section when you want the draft to become the whole body. The card then reads Replaced. You can run Add to section, Replace section, or Discard again from this card or from an older card.
-
Discard does not delete the card or clear the heading. It posts I'd like to change that {key} draft - let's adjust it. Ranger continues so it can write another draft.
-
Regenerate proposal is a circular arrow on the last Ranger message when a draft is still pending. It hides after Added or Replaced, while Ranger is thinking..., and during Ranger had trouble responding. If a draft fails validation, the pane does not show the actions. Type a request in Ask for changes or click Retry.
Drafts you put in still save with the five bodies. Continue with Understand section quality scores. Return to Let Ranger interview you if you need Interview me again.
