Product Marketing Adventures was launching two case study podcast episodes each month. While the host was producing high-quality episodes, limited bandwidth made it difficult to fully leverage each launch across LinkedIn, the podcast’s largest social channel. Older episodes were not being repurposed, and the posting cadence between launches was less consistent.
As the Narrative PMM, I supported the goal of building a more consistent narrative presence for every episode—before, during, and after release. My responsibilities included translating interview content into LinkedIn stories, developing positioning angles and story arcs, repurposing existing episodes, and helping communicate listener research findings.
We needed a repeatable way to turn raw podcast interviews and research into LinkedIn content that would keep the audience engaged between episode launches. The challenge was not simply increasing post frequency; each episode needed a clear, cohesive story that connected its case study to the product marketing audience.
I was also creating story-arc content for the first time while collaborating asynchronously with the Experiment and Market Research PMMs. Different working schedules and competing LinkedIn projects made coordination and post scheduling more difficult.
I began by learning the Narrative PMM role and applying the framework to an existing episode: Jack Cully’s Granola episode. Because the episode had already aired without a narrative, I used a re-engagement angle to practice the framework without waiting for a new launch.
For upcoming episodes, I selected a distinct story arc based on the central transformation in each case study:
Spread the word and give this marketer’s work the audience it deserves.
Share this case study with your network
For each post, I wrote the narrative template, identified the story arc, and drafted opening passages before the visual assets were complete. As assets became available, I refined the LinkedIn posts and aligned the narrative with the Experiment PMM’s priorities to ensure the final content told one cohesive story. I also helped synthesize Market Research PMM findings into audience-facing posts.
I used the podcast’s case study episodes as the primary source for content angles and positioning. I used Claude AI to research story arcs and receive writing feedback, and incorporated feedback from the other PMMs. Narrative templates, story-arc frameworks, visual assets, and asynchronous collaboration supported the content development process.
I established a narrative framework that Product Marketing Adventures could use for future podcast episodes and other content experiments. The framework created a more systematic approach to writing LinkedIn content before and after each release, while giving the team a way to test content and gauge engagement against episode performance.
The work also created more opportunities to repurpose existing content, maintain audience momentum between launches, drive LinkedIn engagement, and grow the podcast audience. Through the project, I learned how to build cohesive episode narratives, collaborate on content experiments, and synthesize research findings into clear audience-facing stories.
