Goal

You will create a Dusted account with LinkedIn or email and reach onboarding.

Prerequisites

You need an invite link, or sign-up must be open for you. The waitlist is sunsetting, so most new members now arrive through Sign up or an invite rather than a waitlist form.

Steps

1. Open Sign up. In the browser, go to /sign-up. If a teammate sent an invite, open that invite URL first so Dusted can attach the invite to the account you create. Either path should show the same entry modal.

2. Choose how you will sign up. The entry modal offers Continue with LinkedIn and Continue with email. LinkedIn is the faster path when you already use it for work: Dusted can prefill name and employer details during onboarding. Email is the path when you want a password on this site.

3. If you chose LinkedIn, click Continue with LinkedIn. Complete the LinkedIn prompt in the popup or redirect. Return to Dusted when LinkedIn finishes. If LinkedIn does not connect, the modal shows an error and you can try again. Do not create a second account with email after a half-finished LinkedIn attempt; retry LinkedIn first.

4. If you chose email, click Continue with email. The modal title becomes Create your account and the eyebrow reads Email sign up. Enter Email and Password. Click Sign up. Dusted sends a verification code to that inbox. Enter the code to confirm the address. If the code expires, resend it from the verification screen.

5. Accept the legal notice on the way through. The modal states that by clicking Continue with LinkedIn or Continue with email, you agree to the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. Read those documents if you have not already. Completing sign-up records that acceptance.

6. Land in onboarding. After the account exists, Dusted sends you to /onboarding unless you already finished it. Onboarding asks for your name, current role, industry, and disciplines. If you signed up with LinkedIn, some of those fields may already be filled. Complete each step and click Continue. You can skip the invite step if you have no code to share.

7. Finish, then find Home. The last onboarding screen confirms your answers. Click Continue to enter the signed-in product at /me. From there you can start a case study, open this field guide again, or finish the founding-member checklist if it appears on your home feed.
