Control notification preferences

Choose Instant, Daily, or Off for each email in the Notifications tab.

This tab controls which emails Dusted sends you. It is not the inbox. The inbox lives at /notifications.

  1. In the account menu under your photo, Notifications opens /notifications. The sidebar bell named Open notifications is the same inbox in a popover. Neither control is this settings tab.
The Notifications inbox
The Notifications inbox
  1. Click your account photo and choose Account settings or Edit profile. Dusted opens Profile settings. Click Notifications. The panel heading is Notifications. The address becomes /profile#notifications.

  2. On a smaller screen, the same settings tab is an icon button named Alerts. That label is the mobile name for this preference panel. It is not the inbox.

  3. Under Email notifications, each kind of email has its own row with Instant, Daily, and Off. Instant emails you a few minutes after it happens. Daily collects it into one Daily Notifications email. Off stops that email. Rows sit under Your content, Recognition, People, Topics, and Reminders.

  4. New accounts start with comments, replies, mentions, collaborator adds, pins and quotes, milestones, patches, Founding Member, patch refills, accepted invites, and new case studies in your topics on Instant. Upvotes, bookmarks, new followers, activity from people you follow, and draft reminders start on Daily.

  5. Under From Dusted, Daily Dusted and Product updates each switch On or Off.

  6. Daily emails arrive around 9am your time. The line under the list names the timezone Dusted uses. Dusted reads it from your browser while you are signed in.

  7. Dusted saves each choice as soon as you click. There is no Save on this tab. A failed save shows Could not update email preferences and puts the row back.

  8. The Unsubscribe link in an email about one notification turns off only that kind of email. The link in an email that lists several notifications turns off every activity email. In-app notifications stay on either way.

Stay current with notifications covers the inbox, Open notifications, and Mark all as read.
