Follow members and vendors

Follow members and vendors from profiles, Explore, and vendor pages.

You cannot follow yourself. Signed-out visitors do not see Follow on a profile header or a case study author row. On Explore suggestion rows and on a vendor page, a signed-out click on Follow opens sign in, then returns you to that page.

  1. Open /profile/{slug} for another member. Click Follow. The same control reads Following and stays pressed. Click Following to stop. Your own profile never shows this control.

  1. On a published case study, the author row includes Follow. After you follow, it reads Following. The same pair appears beside the author later on the page.

  2. In Get inspiration from your peers, on People results, and on Tools you might use, each row can show Follow. After you follow, the same control reads Following. The accessible name can include the member or vendor name.

  3. Open /vendors/{slug} and click Follow. The control reads Following. Click Following to stop. Vendor follow uses the same two labels as a profile.

  4. On a case study card, open More actions for {name}. The first row reads Follow. After you follow, that row reads Unfollow. Choosing Unfollow opens Unfollow {first name}? Confirm with Unfollow, or click Cancel.

  5. Profiles and Home show how many people follow that member. Following a vendor does not change a member follower count. Repeat clicks on Follow do not create a second edge. You cannot follow a demo or placeholder author. A failed write can show Could not update follow status.

Explore published work covers People and Tools. Stay current with notifications covers the inbox. Browse vendor profiles covers the vendor header.
