Comment and mention

Write a comment or reply and type @ to mention a member.

On a published case study, the comments block sits under the article. Signed-out visitors can read comments. They do not see Write a comment. Mentions here tag people who are already on Dusted. They do not send Invite to Dusted.

  1. Scroll to comments. An empty thread reads No comments yet. Be the first to share what you think.

  1. Type in Write a comment. The placeholder reads What do you think of this case study?.... Click Post comment. The cap is 5,000 characters. A draft that is too long shows Comment is too long (5,000 characters max).

  2. After at least one comment exists, Sort comments offers Top and Newest. Newest is the starting sort.

  3. Type @ in Write a comment. A menu named Mention a user opens. After the first character, the status row reads Searching…. Choose a name. Dusted inserts @ plus that person's name. If nobody matches, the status row reads No people found. The comment menu does not add Invite “{typed text}” to Dusted.

  4. On a top-level comment, click Reply. Write a reply uses the placeholder Reply to this comment. Click Post reply. Reply does not appear on a reply. To continue a thread, reply to the parent again.

  5. Your comment shows Edit and Delete. Edit opens Edit comment body. Save edit writes the new text. Cancel edit restores the prior body. You cannot edit or delete someone else's comment.

  6. When more comments exist, Show more replies appends the next page. Mentions in loaded comments link to the member's profile.

Mention collaborators covers @ and Invite to Dusted in the editor. Upvote and bookmark covers the engagement row.
