Pin a quote

Select a passage and click Pin to save a quote on your profile.

Select text in the article body of a published case study, not in comments. Signed-out selection still opens Pin, then Dusted sends you to sign in.

  1. Stay on the reading page, not preview and not the editor. Scroll to the passage you want to keep.

  1. Click and drag across the words. A popover appears near the end of the selection. The visible label is Pin. The accessible name is Pin selection. The cap is 300 characters after Dusted trims extra spaces.

  2. A selection over 300 characters disables Pin. The visible label becomes Selection too long to pin (300 max). Shorten the highlight until Pin returns.

  3. Click Pin. While Dusted writes, the control can show Pinning. A successful save shows Pinned to your profile. The quote appears on your public Pins section as a Quote.

  4. A case study can hold one of your pins, either the whole story or one quote. If a quote is already pinned from this story, Dusted shows You have a quote pinned from this case study. with Manage Pins. A second quote can show You already have a pin from this case study.

  5. Manage Pins opens /profile#pins. A full set of three active pins can show No available Pin spots. Please remove a Pin in order to add a new one. Extra published pins sit as Dormant — no available Pin spot.

  6. The engagement row Pin ({n}) pins or unpins the whole case study. It does not capture a passage. A quote pin on a profile can open the case study with a pin query and highlight the stored passage. If the case study is later unpublished, that pin can read Hidden — case study unavailable.

Feature and pin your work covers the Pins tab and the three active slots. Follow members and vendors covers Follow.
