Add images and files
Insert media, insert a file, or upload files for Ranger from the editor.
Click into an empty paragraph. On a wide screen, click the + in the left gutter to open Insert block. On a narrower screen the + stays hidden, so use Editor tips or Ranger instead.

-
Click Insert media. The dialog says Upload an image to place in this section. Drop an image, or click Drag & drop or click to browse. The upload starts as soon as Dusted accepts the file. After it finishes, the image lands in the current section. To place an image already in the list, click Insert on that row. A reject toast reads Couldn't add {name}: unsupported file or too large. For several files it reads Couldn't add N files: unsupported type or too large.
-
Click Insert file. The dialog title is Insert a file. Select a portfolio piece (coming soon) is disabled. Click Select from device. After a valid pick, the title becomes Give your file a name. Dusted fills Title from the file name. Description (optional) starts empty. Showcase this file on my profile (coming soon) is disabled. Click Insert file when the transfer finishes. Over the limit, a toast reads File is too large (20MB max). Wrong type: That file type isn't supported.
-
Click Editor tips, walk to Upload files, and click it. The dialog says Attach files to this section, or mark them for the Ranger's eyes only. This path opens against The context and accepts more than one file. Leave AI only unchecked to attach the file without placing a block in the body. Check it to keep the file for Ranger and not for the published section. Click Upload 1 file or Upload N files to start. Rejected picks use the same Couldn't add toasts as Insert media.
-
Open Ranger with Interview me or Interview Me. In the composer, click Upload context to pick a file for Ranger. That pick does not insert a block into the body.
To move an image or file, hover it or click it to show Move up, Move down, and Remove. Each click moves it past one paragraph or block. On the first block of a section the up arrow reads Move to previous section, and on the last block the down arrow reads Move to next section; clicking it carries the image or file into that section. The first section has no section above it, and the last has none below. To write above or below an image or file, click the empty line next to it. Empty lines are left out of preview and the published case study.
Format your writing covers the + menu. How autosave works covers the Saved line in the header.
